Can I Burn Today in Georgia?
The short answer depends on your county, the date, the material you want to burn, weather, GFC permit guidance, and any local fire restrictions. Use this as a safe checklist before you rely on a county status label alone.
Step 1: Check the Date
From May 1 through September 30, the Georgia EPD summer open burning ban is the first statewide check for the 54 listed counties. From October 1 through April 30, the search intent shifts to burn permits, burn-day conditions, local approvals, and what material can legally be burned.
